The front of this chest stands out for its elaborate, deeply carved geometric patterns and floral motifs, as well as the clearly visible carved date “1748” and the initials “D F.” Inside are two small, separate compartments on the sides for storing valuables. The chest is fitted with finely forged iron hardware.
